What is laminated glass

Laminated glass consists of two or more panes of glass bonded together by an interlayer of resin, forming a single sheet through a process carried out under high temperature and pressure. In most laminated glasses, the interlayer material is Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB), although other materials such as Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) are also used.

When breakage occurs, laminated glass does not shatter; instead, it holds together, significantly reducing the risk of injury. In addition to enhanced safety, the interlayer also provides excellent sound insulation by dampening vibrations and reducing noise transmission, making laminated glass an ideal choice for buildings and environments where both safety and acoustic comfort are important.
